Current Location: Our Bedroom
Current Mood: discontent
To all that may care. As of 22:30 hrs , Oct. 28, 2007 Furhmann's Cider Mill is no more..:-( A quote from the Erie Times News: "Fuhrman’s Cider Mill, a 111-year-old landmark at 1218 East Gore Road, went up in flames tonight.

Fire companies from more than a half-dozen stations were called to the scene around 8:30 p.m. to find the mill fully involved, with flames shooting out of the roof.

Bob Mitchell, the chief fire inspector for Millcreek Township, said that it was unclear how the fire had started and how much damage the historic building had sustained, but damage was heavy.

More than 65 firefighters were still battling flames inside the building at 10 p.m."

Thought that you locals might be interested.

I can finally cross one of my goals off my list. Driving 7 hours in the middle of the night threw a hurricane.....Finally I can die happy..... Long story short, Karen and I made it home safely and in quite good time. Treated myself to updated GPS software and a new receiver. I'm sure that Karen will update in more detail at a later date.

Next weekend is still up in the air. If Dan can get me a new wheel for my car then Karen and I are off to Punxy Saturday to get it replaced. The one that I have on my car now is leaking. (Thank you incompetent tow truck drivers!) he managed to crack my one rim. gotta get that replaced. Figured while he was at it I'd have him get me a new door panel to replace the one that Karen put a burn hole in a few years back. Figure while I was at it, might as well see if I can get a new driver's seat. Told Dan to do his wheeling and dealing. Talk to you all later.

Well I'm not sure whether I should be complimented or anoyed.....And I quote "Well as of now we have nothing else for you to work on, you got everything completed about a month ahead of time. Would you be terribly upset if today was the last day of your contract?" Geeze let me think...A week to catch up on my sleep, try to get me schedule back to where it should be, bills are caught up and paid early, Karen is working....Let me think....NO, I don;t mind at all!!! finally some time to get the stuff taken care of that i needed to in the first place and just didn't have time. Really hard to schedule interviews when you're at work all the time... Not to shaby, finished off the week at 46.75 hours. That should keep me till school starts! Thank god for small miracles.

Well, after two days of exhausting inventory. I like this place, but jesus, why the hell am I finding inventory tags dates 1944 (just tags mind you, not actual inventory). Oh well, hopefully I can get things back on shape for Monday. Today they are primarily adjusting onhands and finalizing count results.

As Karen said, she finally got a job! Congrats to her again. This week I sent out 4 resumes and have heard back from three. One said that the position was filled, two want to schedule interviews for the week of the 28th. Not to bad if I do say so myself. Who knows things might actually work out for once in my life. Don;t think i would know what to do.

Have a foursome fairly definate, golf, get your head out of the gutter! (Pat, Jacob, Myself, and Benny?)Should have a definate plan for tonight. Things are finally comming together. Unfortunately i have to go back to classes on 6 Sept. Out to be fun, pretty much guaruntees at least one down and out fighting match. No real reason just sick and tired of Penn State's Shit...Always fun, I love making their lives hell. Talk to you all later and looking forward to Sat. Night.

Well I've been sitting in my office trying to find things to do. So far I have done this and nothing. I saw a pie on the food network last night and thought that it looked really good, unfortunately with shipping and handling it costs $164.95. Think that I'll just try to recreate it myself. Believe it or not I am quite the accomplished chef. I just choose not to cook.

Well the weekend was awasome. Finally got some well needed R&R. I've been going straight since school let out and things have managed to arrange themselves so that there was something every weekend. Thankfully, Karen's family reunion has been cancelled for next saturday, so I am thinking of partaking of hitting a little white ball and putting it into 18 holes in the ground on Sat. Figure I might as well, I finally have some "extra" cash and can't remember the last time I played for "fun".

Saturday, spent most of the day with Karen and Morgan at my house just doing odds and ends. just Relaxing. Made good use of the grill at home and then headed out to the JAD PAD(TM). I just realized that it is going to become the JADZ PAD, but I digress. After complaining frequently about the lack of a social gathering place at cheap hotels, Tim and I proceeded to start a bonfire. I have determined two things about this. Between Tim's fire like breath and the fact that I like to hold things that are on fire we are quite tactile when it comes to starting fires. We should go into the arson business. That was a good time. Thinking about finding some more wood and trying again for this weekend.(Who Knows).

Sunday, had the Annual Zukor Club Golf Tournament(The Ball Buster). Dad and I play in it every year. Unfortunately, once you are in you are in. Nothing is more fun then playing golf with a buch of inebriated people. The highlight of the tournament was when Laura (never met her before, and my god was she plastered), decided that she absolutely needed a blue shirt. Her's was green...Off came her shirt and she went chasing after this guy that was wearing a blue shirt. Titties and golf, what a great idea! I have never laughed so hard in my life. Ended Up par for the course.

Well thats about all from me for now. I'm sure that I'll check back later. i think that i might take a long lunch. Talk to you all later.

Well I've been sitting here since 7:00 this morning working on absolutely nothing. I'm waiting for the temp IT guy to allocate permissions so that I can actually accomplish something today. Had it confirmed yesterday, my intership ends officially 1 Sept. 2006. Oh well, I'm starting to get really tired of this stuff anyways. I'm starting to look at things from a business point of view rather then an engineering one. Lord knows I can't let that happen, I enjoy making fun of business majors too much!!!!!!

Well finally back in my office after having a long day yesterday. The air conditioner in my office went out yesterday. Apparently someone, opened the vent to the shop and the A/C couldn't keep up with all the extra humidity. Caused the unit to freeze up. Sent the interns home at 09:30 and I called it a day at around 10:00. The A/C was off for only about 45 minutes and my office was already becoming a sweat box. The good news about this was that I got to spend the day with Karen and Morgan.

Got a phone call from home yesterday that there was a beeping coming from my computer. Stopped home to check it out. The Battery Back-up that I have hooked up was fried. Took it all apart, the battery is good. The only problem is, when I plug in the computer the system goes directly to battery. Checked the battery, that wasn't the problem. Right now, I have my computer running through the surge side of the UPS and the UPS is turned off(Yes, my computer is getting power with the switch off). So, now I need to buy a new UPS. Oh well. Life will go on.

Went swimming yesterday, the water is up to 85°F. Spent a good amount of time in the pool. Welcome relief from the heat. Karen and I finally made the time to go off and look at Party City for invitations and other misc. items. I came up with a descent idea for a cake topper. I'm a firm believer that you pick the topper, then design the cake around it. karen is of the opposite, get the cake, and have a topper that is appropriate. I've decided on a crystal topper and I have the components to make a LED to put into the top of the cake to shine up into the topper. I personally think that this would look really neat. Any thoughts on this would be appreciated. (http://www.lenox.com/cat/index.cfm?fuseaction=prod&cat=wed&subcat=cake&pid=6113&kf=117) Check out this webpage to see what I've chosen. Gotta admit, at least I still have good taste.

At work we made the numbers for last month. On Monday, we shipped 1.7 million. This put us at $6,273,000 for the month of monday. We exceeded, our goal by almost $650,000. As a reward, they are providing us with lunch (A full sub from Teressa's, chips, pop, and dessert :). This I have to admit, isn't a bad deal at all. Well gonna get back to work for now. Talk to ya all later.

So the higher ups are better at this game then I. I formally admit defeat. I changed the meeting to yesterday at 2:30. Showed up for 10 minutes then he asked me if we could do lunch with some VP. Damn....I can't top that. Oh well, lunch is at 12:00 either at Valerio's or Applebees(my choice). Wish me luck. Appearently the numbers that I thought we were going to make are being held up by missing parts (go figure). As of now we are just shy of 3 million. Gonna be a long week after all. Thats about it for now. Talk to ya all later.

Well sitting here waiting for my meeting with the VP. Was supposed to be at 10:30 and he psuhed it back to 1:00. I decided that I will play his damn little game and pushed it back to 2:30. We'll see who wins....No, I really don't have anything to do at 1:00, but I like things on my terms....

I've maaged to pull a cool 2 million out of my ass since last Thurs. This should help to appease the PTB...(Powers that BE). All thats left if another 2.5 mil and a whole week to do it. I was informed that i have until 7/31/06 at 11:59 to make the numbers. Shouldn't be to hard to do. Think I'll worry about it on Wed. or Thurs.(maybe)

I appoligize for not making it out to the JAD pad on Sat, but Karen and i had a nice time together alone. Enjoyed seeing the new Pirates movie (the disney version, not the HD porn:(). Hopped that everyone had a splendifferous weekend and will see some of ya'all on Wed. Thats about it. Gonna get started on my proposal. As always, via condium.

Great, make one off-handed comment about the company not knowing its ass from a hole in the ground....and the next thing you know is you have a meeting with the production supervisior so you can explain how implimenting an RFID Telemetry System can increase their productivity by 62%. Gonna have a long weekend. God I love this!

On the good note, yesterday I managed to ship a $500,000 to Russia. At least now I only have to come up with another 3.5 million. Yeah!

The path of the righteous man is beset on all sides by the iniquities of the selfish and the tyranny of evil men. Blessed is he, who in the name of charity and good will, shepherds the weak through the valley of darkness, for he is truly his brother's keeper and the finder of lost children. And I will strike down upon thee with great vengeance and furious anger those who would attempt to poison and destroy my brothers. And you will know my name is the Lord when I lay my vengeance upon thee. [Ezekiel 25:17]

Well today has been one hell of a long day already. Finished lunch at 13:00 and have been checking actual on hands for the entire morning. Still no close to a solution then when I started. Along with checking onhands I get the privilege of writing job orders that were cancelled for no good reason in the first place. Half are the parts that I need were scheduled to be manufactured and then cancelled for god knows what reason! Here it is 2/3 the way through a month where the shipping goal is $5,628,517.00. As of this moment we are at 1,600,423.00. So all I have to do is figure a way to pull $4,000,000.00 out of my ass to keep the higher ups happy. So looks like a long as rest of the week. Oh well, thats why I'm making the big bucks...... The interns are having a blase checking, rechecking, stock, while I continue to make more. This place amazes me that it somehow manages to turn a profit. Gotta love business. Thank God I'm an engineer.

Enough of this tangent, time for the point of the post. What the hell is the point of a Wednesday? It just there...You can't even say your 1/2 way done with your week until Wed. has come and gone. Thursdays you can say its almost Fri. and Fri you can say its almost the weekend. Enough is enough. Gotta get back to fabricating 4 mil worth of parts. Cheerio.

Sitting here at my desk trying to deceide what I should start on. ONe of the jobs that I spent all of last Friday getting together to get shipped is back on my lists of things to do. Someone over the weekend deceided to take that parts that I had to "aquire" and put them towards a different job. Talk about a waste of a day. Oh well, gives me something to do.

Karen is off on her interview, hopefully things will work out for her for once. I have a fairly descent feeling about this one though. I'll let her post more information later. I know she's planning on spending some time with the "tot" but I'm not sure about what her plans are.

Yesterday I was quite proud of myself. The engineers here were having alot of trouble getting their LabView Program to work (it;s an engineering simulation software), none of them have had any formal training on the subject. Told them to let me take a look, after 10 minuted of hemming an hawing they deceided that it wouldn't hurt anything. After about 15 minutes of playing with the program I realized that the program was fine, but they had misconfigured the card. Clicked three switches and it was off and running. After much congrats they deceided that I would be the go to man for all Lab-View issues. Appearently that had been trying to get this thing to work for almost a month. Gotta love engineers, it doesn't work, but by-god why the hell would we call tech-support.

As for me I'm thinking about taking a 1/2 day and leaving sometime afternoon. Still not 100% sure about this option though. Like the idea of having the money, but like the idea of being in this office less.

Tim, hi. Happy B-Day! Just give me a call and let me know what you want to do.

Thats about all from me for now, gotta get back to staring at numbers and trying to figure out why things aren't were they are supposed to be.

So I have spent the last 3 hours working in 105° heat looking for parts that were supposed to be here two weeks ago. Can't find the parts, the system says that they are all there, but alas not on the shelves. I have walked around the 450,000 sq ft. factories a total of 12 times.....I had to do some more checking...They were used and in a meter that was in use in the Gulf of Mexico...Someone forgot to release them to the order. If people would just figure out whatto do and when to do it things would be fine.

Figured that since now I am working I had better start posting more. Things are going fairly smoothly. Had a meeting in Lake City this morning to find out why he only shipped 25 of the 500 parts that were orderd. Have another meeting at 2:00 in Ripley. Same deal different company. Finally getting my office set up the way I like it. Waiting for Tech-support to get my voicemail up an running. Can't have clients calling me and not getting my voice....Other then that things are all the same. Have to get back to work and try to expidite 500 shaft berings from Mexico by a week. Some stuff different day. Talk to ya all later.
